It was a little large for the crib so I put it under the sheet for padding and folded one edge, it is so comfy for our granddaughter on those crib matresses. she seems to sleep better. So Soft...

When I originally opened this package, I thought that this blanket was too stiff and also too short for the crib. I had envisioned something much softer for a toddler. I was going to return it, but let my daughter take a look at it first in case she liked it & she LOVED it. She automatically snuggled up with it & has been sleeping with it ever since. It has softened up with use as well. I would prefer if it were a little longer as all of the crib-sized duvet covers that I have found are too long, but this doesn't seem to bother my daughter at all. Overall, great quality & I would encourage anyone to purchase it. -- A little small, but cozy
Just wanted to say for those of you giving us parents a lecture on the safety of bedding in a crib, that some parents like us, use crib size mattresses well into toddler hood and these duvets are wonderful to keep an older child warm. My 2 year old loves it and so do I. We have all read the same parenting books, we know the does and don't s, so I encourage you to focus your review on the product, not on your parenting opinions. -- No fear mongering please
I purchased this comforter for my 9-month old daughter. Her crib is the Arm's Reach Co-sleeper Original. This comforter fits it perfectly. The quality is good and is very soft. I've only had it for a couple weeks and so far so good.
I intended this comforter as a blanket for her, but she's turned it into a mattress cover. She loves sleeping on top of it. Oh well, at least she's sleeping through the night again with this down comforter.
I read reviews about how it could be a suffocation hazard and SIDS and lots of other scary things. IMHO, I think it comes down to the baby. Each baby is different. My daughter is an expert at kicking off blankets at night, which is why I'm not worried about this comforter as a suffocation hazard. Plus she loves playing pee-a-boo ... where I throw a blanket over her head and then she uses her own arms to pull it off. I would not have used this comforter if she was only a few months old. But now she's 9-months and very strong the situation has changed.
Added 10/11/2009 - It's now getting cold at night and this blanket is so light and fluffy, my daughter doesn't even know I'm adding it on as an extra layer of blanket at night!! She used to wake up in the middle of the night with coughs because she was too cold (even with the Halo Innovations Early Walker SleepSack Wearable Blanket Micro Fleece, Pink Daisies, Large on).
I tested this blanket by sleeping with it one night to make sure it doesn't overheat my baby and it works! Perhaps its so light and airy that it keeps the me warm but doesn't overheat like a regular adult down blanket. -- Terrific comforter, wish I can buy a cover for it somewhere
